Inside a GaGa Mind
If you have seen the Telephone video by Lady Gaga, feat. Beyonce, then you, like me, are hopefully thinking, what the fuck!?
Let her explain…
Wow, she actually seems sane!
I believe that Lady GaGa is the Andy Warhol of the 21st Century.
Her messages on consumerism, and literally what America is physically consuming, the vast amounts of food, is ‘doing her tits in’ and so, she makes a mockery of it in plain sight, in a music video- the most viewed medium of today, and no one gets it…
I guess history is cyclical, it just changes a tad, just as computers have slight upgrades, but the program is still the same…
“Once you ‘got’ Pop, you could never see a sign again the same way again. And once you thought Pop, you could never see America the same way again.”
“People need to be made more aware of the need to work at learning how to live because life is so quick and sometimes it goes away too quickly. “
“I’m afraid that if you look at a thing long enough, it loses all of its meaning.”
“What’s great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest.”
From Andy’s art, you could see the iconic consumer items he picked up on were campbell soup cans, coca-cola bottles… Lady GaGa chose cigarettes, diet coke cans, and sandwiches…
…I forgot to mention her statement about the Telephone, what her entire song is about! How obsessed individuals are with their telephones, I know I am one of the guilty party! My blackberry = my crackberry!
…If they open up a rehab center for blackberry users like they are doing for Cyber addicts right now, I am going to get checked in! (BTW, if you haven’t read, a rehab center for individuals as young as 12 years old is being opened in London, the internet has become an actual addiction for some, causing actual withdrawal symptoms. It is causing a deteriorating of social skills with the younger generations. Crazy isn’t it!?)
I think Warhol, and now GaGa, are throwing things we don’t even realize we abuse back into our faces. Like the obsession with mass consuming- Warhol’s prints are always of several of the same subject/object on one canvas, and then substance abuse because of the desire to mass consume, GaGa’s restaurant scene in her Telephone video is very interesting, I believe it depicts this notion of mine. The extras are all eating food in a piggish manner and then all die because they are poisoned by the food… hmmm
Have to go to sleep I’m so tired, more on this to come, I’m intrigued!
New Look of 2010?
God, I hope not!
Taking Andy Warhol and his statements on materialism to a whole new level. Andy Warhol 3D!?
Very Interesting…
A Millionaire Mind
Arpad Busson. Founder, EIM Hedge Fund. First Job: Door-to-door sales. Now worth more than £100 million, his company worth over £6 billion (Networth that is), He says ‘Money is like anything, if you abuse it, you lose it. You need to respect the money, because as it comes, it goes’
Richard Caring. Owner, Caprice Holdings. First Job: Making £1.50 mini skirts to sell on British High Street. Now: Built a monopolizing retail company, by setting high goals and over-achieving. ‘There’s no limit’
Lucian Grainge. CEO, Universal Music Group International. ‘Unless you are competitive, unless you are egotistical and passionate, and you care, and you know who you are, you ain’t gonna be anyone’
Sir Philip Green. Owner, Arcadia Group. He controls 12% of the British retail market, including Topshop! ‘I oversee 3,000 stores in 30 countries, with 44,000 employees in the UK. I work 14-17 hours a day, starting at 6:30am and sometimes finishing at 2am. You can’t take a rest. You’re either in it, or you’re not in it’
What do these men have in common? Vision, intensity, and courage. Not afraid to take risks because they believe in their work ethic.
I have so much more to say, but I think their own words say enough.

ANOTHER Positive To Living in London:
Being able to delight in my passion for the arts.
Until the 21st of March Gavin Bond is displaying his photography in the Idea Generation Gallery on Chance Street, London! I am so excited!
For those of you who do not know who he is, he is a famous music photographer, with an impeccable eye and imagination. He chooses to work with tricky subjects, which makes his works even more amazing!
For those of you who read my last blog, you know how obssessed I am with photography! When I saw that his first music photography exhibition was going to be in town I almost jumped out of my skin!
One of his favorite muses, Victoria Secret Models… Why not!? Mine would be too, hah

MY LONDON FLAT
Location: West Kensington
Next to: The Queen’s Tennis Club… which is cool because we get free tickets to the first week of the Queen’s Tournament for living on the street of the club (For those of you not into Tennis, the Queen’s Tournament is a set of mandatory practice sets with all of Wimbeldon’s players)
YES!
Living in Awe
No words can describe London at night. The wheel lit green or purple, the capital building, Big Ben glowing bright, the Buckingham palace, the Parliment, the river… it seems as though you can see everything from all different points. I will never get use to this view! I want to teleport you all just so you can catch a glimpse, even photography won’t do it justice!
Driving through the city is a perfect end to a great day! You can’t help but smile wide.
Right now, life is so sweet.
I love my job. I love my boyfriend. I love London. I love my English friends. I love being able to speak to my American friends constantly on bbm. I love the current weather… I can’t think of one thing I don’t love about my current situation! And in one day, we can add loving my London flat onto this list! hehe!
There definitely have been challenges, but doesn’t that just make every perfect moment that much sweeter!
If you get anything from my blog, besides a laugh and a smile, I hope you get that you should follow your dreams and go after what you want no matter what the obstacle is. Face it and achieve great things!
Have a beautiful night everyone!
And remember the brilliant words of Marvin Gaye, ‘Ain’t not Mountain High, Ain’t No Valley Low!’
Kisses xx
The FINEST
From the title of this post, a lot of you probably have jumped to the conclusion that I am about to discuss Sienna
Very fine, yes, but you are far off the actual topic, but definitely not mislead…
England’s #1 Comic, James Corden
Known for his authorship and starring in the famous show Gavin and Stacy, as well as his authorship and creation of a bunch of different hilarious sketches…

Every one of his interviews will leave you in absolute fits of laughter!
Here they are together; the epitome of brilliant television!
Here is the sketch with the English Football team they were discussing (For Americans, a lot of it may be over your head because there are a lot of innuendos that only individuals full on into football will get, but you can still get the gist!)

My Subjective Reality
Have you have read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne?
In this book, Rhonda explains her interesting take on the nature of reality.
Her main thesis is that The Law of Attraction is the acting force in individual’s lives… Going against many religious doctrines, which claim that the lives of individuals are predestined, Rhonda illustrates that this reality is yours to shape and mold into what you choose, it’s about the power of positive and negative thinking.
“Everything that’s coming into your life you are attracting into your life. And it’s attracted to you by virtue of the images you’re holding in your mind. It’s what you’re thinking. Whatever is going on in your mind you are attracting to you.
Every thought if yours is a real thing – a force.”
“Thoughts become things!”
“Thoughts are magnetic, and thoughts have a frequency. As you think thoughts, they are sent out into the Universe, and they magnetically attract all like things that are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source – you.”
Now, upon first reading the book, I thought she had a lot of good points, but painted sort of a ludicrous picture, for instance, thinking ‘I want a bike,’ is not going to make a bike suddenly appear, which is what I thought she was inferring in a round about way…
Years later, thinking about her philosophy, I find a lot of truth in her statements. Realizing now that it is not necessarily a powerful thought that will make something you desire appear, but rather, if you think something, you will then take the necessary actions towards achieving this thought/goal. So, in your reality, you do have the ability to make your thoughts happen/dreams come true.
Take my mother for instance… in Jamaica as a teenager, she was listening to the Beach Boys, and dreaming of living in Southern California, being one of the girls they sing about, and sunbathing on the sands they describe! She was a nurse for her father with no prospects of ever getting over to the States. No passport, no visas…She ended up at nursing school in London, then, due to her training, was able to transfer to New York and Texas with her nursing trade, eventually ending up in Southern California! When she was finally there, she decided to take the American Dream one step further and get into the movie industry. She became the personal assistant to Robert Zemeckis, eventually becoming his right hand producer, later she was responsible for discovering Peter Jackson from a pile of scripts, and having the whole film industry open to her… Money, Travels… Whatever she wanted was at her finger tips.
Now take myself… junior year of college I told my dad I wanted to move to London and get into Fashion. PAH! My dad encouraged me, but ya right, let’s be honest, my prospects didn’t look too good, especially considering I was at Uni studying English Writing, in LA, working Part Time for red bull, with no desire to go for a Masters Degree… Going to get there, how? Turns out I’m an Irish citizen, and thus a citizen of the EU, and all I needed to do was get my passport! Also turns out that I got the right sales job in the states that enabled me to move to the UK very easily, working for the same people. And then what do you know, I end up in London working as a Sales and Advertising Consultant for a Fashion Marketing Firm. SNAP
Was this preordained?
Who knows!
It definitely has been hard work to make my dreams come about, but Rhonda never said it was going to be easy! She said that your thoughts are a force and if you think long and hard enough about your goals, then you will achieve them, because those bold enough will take the necessary actions to make their dreams come about! I imagine it as your thought being a destination and you can travel there by boat, land, plane, however you need to in order to get there, and you’ll go through whatever obstacles that get in your way on your travels to where you want to go, but you have the option, to either get there, continue traveling onwards towards your destination no matter what, and thus achieve your goals, your dreams, or give up and turn back…
Brutus agrees with me…
“There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures” -Brutus; Julius Caesar
This world is yours, mold it into whatever you want!
What are your dreams for yourself?
What makes you happy?
What do you want to do? Where do you want to be?
All of these things first need to take form as a thought, then as an action… then they can become a reality ~ At least that has been my experience.
I’ll never forget this quote,
“Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your character,
Your character becomes your destiny”

Raindrops on Roses…
“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packages tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things.
Mary Kate’s style and Ashley Olsen’s too,
cupcakes and shortcakes and any type of chocolate!
Bright colored nail polish on nicely tanned skin.
these are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in stilettos to help look their finest,
long hair and colored hair dressed up messy but elegant,
silver white sands that meet warm blue water,

these are a few of my favorite things.
When I’m homesick, when I miss my friends,
when I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don’t feel so bad!

Julia introduced me to a new inspiration today,
This woman gives me hope! That my dream that I am going to live up life until the day I die is feasible! All the old people you see on a day to day basis have resorted to indoor living and trips to the supermarket, their biggest thrills coming from the automatic shopping carts… No thank you! This lady, you know, is having the time of her life still! Hallelujah!
Happy Thursday Everyone!
